Drivel: The return of voice portals. Anyone remember "tellme"? Tellme is still around, but they are selling their software to enterprise call centers now. I am sure their free service a couple of years ago helped the refine their software, but I wish there was still a consumer equivalent.

Drivel: Decentralization seems to be winning the courts' approval. I was watching CCN this evening and caught a segment on the Kazaa, Morpheus case stating that the difference between Napster and these two services was that Kazaa and Morpheus do not keep indices of all of the music available through their software on servers they own. The judge reviewing the case equates this to similar cases brought before the cours when VCRs and photocopiers hit the market. The courts found that the manufacturers of VCRs and photocopiers were not liable for what was produced using their devices because they had no way to audit their user's behavior. The court is now applying this same reasoning to software.

Drivel: I guess the Manila job posting last week didn't interest anyone. Oh well. I did find someone to fill this slot. This does beg the question of how much Manila skills are worth on the market.
