Jake's got a wizzy editor working in Radio and Manila in Mozilla on Mac. What a relief. Now when people ask where's the wizzy editor for the Mac there will be an answer. [Scripting News]

I've gotta wizzy, too. Be back in a minute. ;-) Nice work, Jake.

Over the past week I've seen more articles published about Web Services than I have in a long time. I'm sorry, but I just don't get. What is so special about Web Services? Web Services is simply another way for applications to use a common media, the Internet, to communicate. There is all this hype about Web Services security and performance. How is this any different than security and performance for a web site? What is special about Web Services is the method of the communication between two applications. Depending on your application's requirements, you will choose one of almost a dozen methods that best suits your application. Cut through the hype and get to the point because, at the end of the day, all that matters is getting data to the user.

A number of reports are beginning to surface about the volume and type of traffic being generated by RSS feeds. Phil Wolff published a peice about a month ago issuing some projections. Tim Bray published data about real traffic on his weblog last week. These are important documents in the future of RSS as they provide some indication of scalability of the format. How well does RSS really scale? Just as well as your web facing infrastructure since it is just another text file being served. The key is in how you generate this file.

A great satirical piece that deftly illustrates the politics of blogging. Not so unlike the real world.
