This is an outline I am keeping to track all of the big stories broke by bloggers during 2004. Do you have a story that you have broken? Email me or post a comment with the supporting links to you blog and the mainstream source. I'll be working on turning this into a set of web forms and RSS feed over the next few weeks.

I completely missed this during the week. John broke this story that was picked up by CNN three days later. It all makes sense. I remember seeing the story on CNN and listening to them state that the source and authenticity of these photos had not been verified. They never will be. A soldier caught taking photos of a live op and distributing them without authorization would face a court marshal. I would venture to say that this is one of the biggest stories broken by a blogger and picked up by mainstream media. Way to go, John.

It would be interesting to see how many stories can be accumulated over the course of the year that are broken by bloggers and picked up by the mainstream media. I’m starting an outline that contains these stories. If you have one, drop me an email or post a comment.

It's been a week since I last posted. I went to Chicago this week to begin getting integrated (read: assimilated) into the larger organization that I am now a part of. I have had a very narrow focus over the last year specific to the company’s Internet data center. The scope of my activities is applicable to our western hemisphere IT organization. I have been shouldered with implementing ITIL in this organization. This could be a full-time job unto itself. I still maintain my operations responsibilities with respect to the Internet data center and all that this entails; cost allocation and management, vendor management, incident and problem management, capacity planning, etc. In addition to this, I have been tapped to size the operational requirements of our new content delivery platform. This mode of operation is not sustainable.
