The Dean campaign has cemented the Internet's place in American politics. The empowering technologies will remain as candidates come and go. The effective implementation and use of email, RSS, blogs, and all of the sources that feed them will become key strategic tools for candidates over the next four years. The weapon of choice in '08 will be integrated media.

For those of you who read my blog for storage information, what would you like to see me cover? I've got a few topics I'd like to write about:
  • Data mobility. I'm half way through my first piece on this topic as I've outline in a previous post.
  • Data lifecycle management. A lot of marketing dollars are being spent on this right now. Is it a bunch of hype or is there something to it?
  • SRM: Myth or reality? This debate has been raging for years. Let's get to the bottom of it with some real life input from people who have done it.
  • Leveraging your storage investment. Most managers and executives see how much they are paying for storage but do little to squeeze any real value out of it. Impress your boss' boss with a few easy forumlas.
  • Storage strategies. I'll tell you for free what EMC and Accenture will charge your company $500K plus for.

This article shows that programmers in China with three to five years experience cost $12.50/hr compared to their U.S. counterparts who cost $56/hr. What is interesting is the ensuing message board. Here's a quote from the first post:

"American programmers are still the most inspired and creative in the world."

I remember a quote from the instructor of my first C class, "All programmers learn from those who came before them." As long as the U.S. can maintain the creative edge, everything will be fine. This is the process of natural selection as its best.
