MyDoom may be grabbing all the press, but are you ready to deal with an attack from within? In the article Developer Tool Kit Raises Backdoor Alarms, a real security manager at a financial services company realizes that a toolkit vendor has potentially created a backdoor to his application. What to do? Fire the vendor? Not so fast. The vendor makes a compelling argument. Be careful how you use your tools. Any tool can be dangerous if used improperly.
