We arrived in San Diego last Tuesday. It has been a hell of a week getting settled in the new house. Our major tasks have been purchasing and installing appliances and turning on utilities, not to mention just buying stuff we need to subsist until our stuff from Boston catches up with us late in August. We still don't have cable and Internet access. This is coming tomorrow. We bought a refrigerator only to have it burn out yesterday. The earliest they can get out to assess the situation is tomorrow. I'm sure they will have to replace the entire unit, which will most likely be Tuesday. In the mean time we lost what food we had bought and are now eating out again for every meal. It's been a very expensive and stressful week. I don't want to have another week like this for a very long time. The move won't officially be over until everything catches up with us -- one more car and household items. |
