Okay, so I tried uploading and running
Gallery today but it didn't work. Gallery requires that certain global PHP setting be enabled that my web host was unwilling to enable, for good reason. So I ditch Gallery and went fishing. It turns out my web host supports a number of image gallery applications. I decided to give
Coppermine a try. The auto install my web host offers through their control panel didn't work. A manual install worked like a charm and I am giving it a try. I'm going to upload some photos tomorrow and see how things work out. One other thing that got my attention about Coppermine is that it has a camera phone module that will receive images taken from my phone. I know there are a ton of services that provide this functionality, but I want my data on my server and it to have a consistent presentation. I'll spend some time achieving this goal, but it will be worth it.
