I don't get it. Cisco's definition of a VSAN sounds exactly like the definition of a zone. A difference may exist in the context of Fibre Channel. In the context of IP, what's the difference between a VSAN, Zone, and VLAN? I don't see the difference.

I've been getting a ton of flow from the IP SAN vendors since starting down this review trail. iSCSI appears to be the hottest front in storage right now. A ton of start ups are shipping iSCSI products and getting good customer feedback upon which to base their next releases.

I want the list to grow. If you want me to add a vendor to the list just drop me a comment with the vendor name and they will get added. I hope to be publishing collected notes and links by the end of next week. More detailed briefs will follow as I talk to specific vendors.
